I am researching a doctoral thesis on Sir John Pedder, first Chief
Justice of Van Diemen’s Land (now Tasmania). Sir John retired to
Brighton, and died at 8 Bedford Square, on 24 March 1859. I wondered if
you would be kind enough to let me know whether No. 8 still exists. Sir
John was a widower when he returned to England, and I wonder what sort of
residence No. 8 was.
