During my family history research I’ve found a relative who was an engineer working in India in the period between the two world wars. In late 1932 he came back to England on a visit with his wife and eight year old daughter. He gave his address in England as The Downs School, Preston Park, Brighton (see attached, line no. 103). This has puzzled me because I thought that The Downs School was the name adopted only in the 1950s by a school which before that date was called Ditchling Road School. Can anyone enlighten me please?
