The WOOLGAR family - search 3

by Helen Shipley 10 April 2008

I would love to find anyone who is related to, or knew of, the WOOLGAR family which lived in Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas from at least 1860. My great, great grand-father, Charles Thomas WOOLGAR was born in Horsted Keynes in 1837 but moved to Brighton and married Harriett STURT there in 1860. C.T. Woolgar was a merchant seaman and later a boat operator and bathing machine proprietor. He was involved in fishing and running a pleasure boat from Hove beach. I have posted information about him on this site, together with the only picture I have of him. I have had some good results from an item in the Evening Argus but hope to reach as many people as possible to fill in some of the gaps. Charles Thomas and Harriett had 9 children, 7 girls and 2 boys and I have quite a lot of factual information as well as some snippets of oral history from other family members and I am happy share anything I have.
