Zeppelin raids or not?

by Edward 2 October 2008

I wonder whether anyone can clarify two questions?I have recently been reading Martin Gilberts Atlas Of The First World War and one of the maps in it Entitled German Zeppelin Raids Over Britain 1914-18 appears to indicate that Brighton had been attacked at some point. Can anyone clarify or add any information to this?On another page a map entitled The Air Defence Of Britain 1916-18 suggests that that near or at Hove there was to quote -Headquarters of Home Defense Squadrons with aircraft ready to intercept Zeppelins.Again can anyone throw any light on this as it seems a topic not mentioned in any listings about Brighton during The First World War?
