Attending services in the 1950s

I attended the school at St Bart’s in the late 40s early 50s and we had to go to a service in the church every Thursday morning.

The school photograph was taken in the playground. I’m 4th from the left in the back row.

  • During the early 1950s St Barts was my sanctuary where I sought refuge whenever in trouble. The sheer majesty of the building, the intoxicating incense, the spiritual power of the paintings, tapestry, marble and relics all inspired me to remember and recall my experience as a choirboy in such esteemed surrounds where my faith and resolve were given life.
