Letter from Arthur Jolly to HE Earl in Victoria, Australia
From: Letter in the AtticThe letter is written from 11 Wilbury Gardens, Hove to 113 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy Victoria, Australia, and thanks ‘Bro Earl’, a fellow Mason, for his parcel, which was especially welcome for Christmas. The parcel contained, tinned ham, tinned peaches, cooking fat and soap. Much of the letter is taken up with Masonic news: a new Provincial Grandmaster has been appointed, installed by the NW Grandmaster and the Duke of Devonshire who came to Hove for the ceremony in October 1947 was looked after by AJ for the day.
