“The American Express Community Stadium nestles in the South Downs, and Falmer Village. It’s home to Premier League Football club Brighton and Hove Albion. In late March the Uk went into lockdown because of the coronavirus and all football stopped. The stadium has stood empty since then.
That was until the Government pledged to be testing 100,000 people a day for the coronavirus by the end of April. The Amex stadium, along with 47 other sites across the country, was set up by the Department of Health as a drive-thru testing centre. I could have photographed the busy entrance, the drive through tents or the signs along the road asking drivers not to open their windows but it seemed disrespectful.
So instead I took what looks to be a landscape of a quiet, peaceful location, but which hides an important site in the countries fight against coronavirus.”
