Papers related to Frederick George Stoner
From: Letter in the AtticThe papers relate to Frederick George Stoner who served as a Private in the First World War and was killed on 28 October 1916 in France. There are postcards from FGS to his sisters (Kathleen Mary Langridge, nee Stoner, and Ellen Simmonds, nee Stoner) and to his mother Clara Stoner.
There is a letter from the Commonweath War Graves Commission in 1968 saying that FGS grave is unknown, but his name is inscribed on a memorial in Thiepval in France.
There are photographs and a postcard of Thiepval and photographs of a memorial at Stanford Road Infants School, Brighton, where FGS was a pupil.
