Care for local people

Marie Curie Cancer Care held collections in Brighton town centre, Churchill Square, Kemp Town and Hove, as well as a special collection at Brighton & Hove Albion Stadium during the match this Saturday. Marie Curie Cancer Care is hoping to raise over £5.5 million across the UK this March. The money raised will enable Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to local people with a terminal illness, in their own homes.

Attended by the Mayor

Outside Churchill Square The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Geoff Wells and the Mayoress Mrs Sally Wells, gave rallying messages to the volunteers collecting, and even joined in entertainment provided by Brighton Male Voice Choir and The Breathe Easy Chorus. The conductor of Brighton Male Voice Choir, Deryck Hanchett had composed a personal song for Marie Curie to the tune of an old Welsh lullaby for the occasion.
