Sussex Beacon 21st Anniversary

The Sussex Beacon HIV Care Centre opened its doors twenty one years ago in 1992. In the mid 1990s deaths from Aids peaked at over 1,700 a year. Now, thanks to advances in drug treatments, centres like the Sussex Beacon are mainly dealing with the care of people learning to cope with the challenges of living with HIV.

People can support the Sussex Beacon by donating furniture, homeware and clothing to one of its two charity shops. They are also looking for runners to compete in the Brighton Half Marathon for them. If you want to find out more about Sussex Beacon and their work, you can visit their website at
